Statement
We spontaneously lump the world into two categories: natural and man-made. But that’s a fiction. Everywhere we look are things that don’t fit neatly into either category.
Instead we see hybrids. Big things like national parks and climate change. Small things like gardens and house pets. “Man-made or natural” is a false dichotomy. The two are inseparably entangled.
The things I make gather in those entangled spaces. When they succeed, they call attention to the mostly unnoticed dialog between culture and what we call nature. By amplifying the conversation, I hope to show ourselves to ourselves.
